What is it?
Neuro Linguistic Programming. If you're wondering where the odd name comes from ;
Neuro as in your entire neurological system, brain, nervous system and senses
Linguistic as in language and the coding of your sensory experience
Programming as in repeatable patterns on behaviour like handshakes and phobias
So it's the study and practice of how we interact with our experience and respond to it in predictable ways which can be changed. If you cringe when you hear a certain person's voice, that is a learned response, a program, which you can change if you choose. You can hit them instead. Or feel nothing at all.
The format of the course
The NLP Practitioner course is in two parts.
The first part - the foundation - comprises 36 hours of in depth training and practice, with assignments and optional practice sessions to develop and refine your skills even further. This gives you the basics of NLP and the ability to achieve many of the results you're looking for in your life and work.
This Foundation module can be taken as 12 evenings or 6 days
The second part - the certification - is a 4 day certification module. At the end of this, and subject to you meeting the certification criteria, you will be awarded a NLP Practitioner license from NLP's founding certification body, the Society of NLP.
You can take just the first foundation part of the course and choose when the certification is right for you - you don't have to commit to that right away so you can develop your skills at your own pace.
Who is running the course?
Peter Freeth is a NLP trainer, coach and author who lives in Warwickshire and has run NLP courses both locally and throughout the world for the past 5 years. The course will be delivered by Peter and a team of experts who are using NLP every day in coaching, management, sales and a variety of other roles. The training team is bringing you the very best in NLP practice with up-to-the-minute developments and applications so that you can take your new skills and use them right away.

Even parents use NLP to build better relationships with their children!
History
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) was developed starting in the early 1970s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder, when they set out to model the work of exceptional practitioners in the field of human communication and change. They wanted to model not academics and theories but real people who were making a real difference in the world.
There are two sides to NLP; modelling is the process of figuring out a person's inner mental processes so that they can be reproduced or changed.
If you modelled an exceptional leader or sales person then you could figure out the 'keys' to their success - the handful of perceptions and behaviours that make their results significantly better than those of an average performer. How often have you heard it said that someone is so good at what you do, it would be great if they could be cloned! Well, that's exactly the way that NLP is used to dramatically improve the performance of athletes, sales people, leaders and many other roles where performance is related to how a person thinks.
The second side is to do with the way that we relate and respond to the world through our senses, and through our senses we create a map or simulation of the world. Sometimes that map is very useful, and sometimes it isn't - just like any map! Yet you'll be surprised at how easily you can update your map of the world so that you can find your way through life even more easily and enjoyably.
